I kind of have the same issue with no second however every other gear is shifting perfect including 4th I did run a scan tool on it while driving and it said 1 - 2 shift valve malfunction I didn't think these PCMS could detect mechanical failures inside the transmissions? 2000 4L60E 4x4

That's a busted radiator/trans cooler, I'd say. A lot of newer vehicles have them as one integrated piece, the trans cooler is internal to the radiator and can rupture, allowing coolant/water in to the trans fluid circuit. Hey they have this problem again if they don't replace that too

On my 96 suburban my vcm service # is 16244210 which is supposed to be the corrected vcm so i should be good correct? Or do i still need to do this?

Did GM "update" the valve body so these valves won't bind up in the future ? Or are they merely selling people the old style valve body to those who aren't interested cleaning and refurbishing their original valve body ? More specifically, part numbers: 24281084, 25257450 and 24264343

My flexplate cracked replaced it and the transmission new flexplate completely broke apart now. You think it was installed incorrectly? Or transmission going out? Car was driving just fine and all the sudden flexplate broke outta no where

Also a 4l80 is a rear wheel drive transmission this is a front wheel drive transmission that makes it a 4t80

Most engine failures are cheap ass no good gaskets that the companies are too god damn cheap to put in ones that last the life of the engine block.

How did you know to check for ground at that solenoid? I have exact symptoms including clearing code and immediately returns without even starting car...i can drive the csr if i manually start out in low and shift up...the van sermd like its always in a higher gear...goes fine while on highway after you get going but D is always flashing and TCS stays lit
